Davidson River School students recently took time out of their busy schedules to exit their classroom and lay eyes on a new manifestation of their mascot, a hellbender salamander. Presented before them under a canopy next to the school was a large concrete statue of a hellbender salamander covered in mosaic tiles of all sorts of colors, shapes and sizes. The students will have the opportunity to help finish the mosaic on the tail of the statue before it is mounted in front of the school and presented to the public.
